So the plan was to get the kids in the bath pronto when we got home so I could tackle supper. Success! Even though as I was making supper our litlins' decided to use a whole bottle of superman body wash for shampoo, good thing it was small, and the plus is that Kaeden shampooed his own hair and Bella's.
After the bath was over it was time to eat my scrumptious sloppy Joe's and tater salad. Bella loved it of course because she will eat lots of anything you give her, Kaeden on the other hand wasn't so hip on the tater salad. I was just happy he was eating! I have to be thankful that Bella knows how to use silverware but I still wonder when she will stop pushing her food onto the spoon with her hand... kinda defeats the purpose right? Oh well, she is still cute when she is messy!
Kaeden was more of a fan to have the meat off the bun. He ate the top of the bun and then scraped the meat off to eat the bottom, and THEN he ate the meat. Poor fella was messing around on the stool and fell off right before dinner. He has a pretty nasty bruise on his shin, but he lives on to tell the story.Supper is done! The kids ran off to watch a movie while I cleaned the mess. I need a maid! Bella wanted to check out the goods, a picture sent home for Gramma Leslie that was supposed to go with the rest of her order. We will give that to her later(I'm keeping it for now!).
Tonight wasn't such a crazy night with lots of running around like this past weekend, but it was still enough that Kaeden had to stop for another drink of milk.
OK, Moms done cleaning... Time to read a book with Daddy and then off to bed. Both Kaeden and Bella just love the books that Daddy recorded for them. They sit so quietly and listen to his voice, as do I, and my favorite part is at the end of the book when Dad said "I love you guys, I miss you, I will see you soon" and both the kids repeat it back to him. It brings tears to my eyes every time because it makes me think about how much I miss him.
They are getting used to me following them around with the camera all week and have started to become curious as to how it works. So, tonight I let both of them take a picture. Bella did OK with a little help, but I looked horrible so I won't post that one, and Kaeden took a couple before getting a good one of Bella and I.
OK kids, off to bed! Bedtime went down without a hitch at 7:45 pm. Bella had to have a sippy with water and was content.
And Kaeden wanted to send hugs to Daddy so he stretched out his arm as if to give him a hug. Too cute! I can't wait for the Daddy dolls to arrive so they can snuggle Daddy all night.
Hugs for Dad!
There is just one more thing I have to mention... Bella melted my heart today when she asked for some fruit snacks before dinner and I told her no. I slaved all day over sloppy Joe's and wasn't about to let her ruin her appetite with fruit snacks, but I almost gave in. You see, manners are stressed in the Maki household, and if they forget to use manners we remind them. Well, when Bella asked for fruit snacks today I didn't have to remind her at all. Her words exactly were..."Mommy I have nute nacks peas, puddy peas!" I haven't ever heard her say pretty please before, and they way she said it could melt even the coldest heart. I love her!
That sums up a pretty great day, and I am going to spend a little time watching my new favorite show Damages before turning in for the night.
We LOVE you Daddy, and we MISS you!
STAY SAFE!
